St Ives And Jaywick The New Partnership

This is a terrific postcard. It has a pull out section which is not shown here. I keep trying to find a back story to St Ives, the one in Cornwall, that is not all cheesy grins, tourists and a plethora of little beachy coves which seem to be ram jam fuddy with people in some capacity or another, a lot of the time. In some of the novels I have read - St Ives is supposed to be bleak and people-less during the winter months with high water and pounding relentless waves caused by strong winds. The paintings produced by St Ives artists reminds me very strongly of Andy Warhols's luridly coloured pop art extravaganzas.
I have been the St Ives author's and video producer's dream - Sherlocking for something else, something different that is not all cream teas, fishing boats, smiley faces and paintbrushes.
And I sort of got this idea - why not move Jaywick to St Ives? That should bring in some real flavours and could perhaps even produce a new Art School - Jay-Ives-Wick perhaps? This could add a whole new dimension to the music scene too - with the Ive-Jays topping the bill at the September music festival.
