Lovely Lolita - Halloween 2009

This is the lovely Lolita Salome Rabbit who really enjoyed wearing her Halloween costume at Samhain, back in 2009.

Lolita sadly passed in to Spirit on 7th May 2013. She is buried in a special animal graveyard in our garden, which is watched over by Baron Samedi and Maman Brigitte, who we give regular gifts to as this is a respectful thing to do.

We still love her and our other Passed Pets and we remember them at this special time of year. We love all animals and do not eat meat. We believe animals are as important as humans. We all belong to the Universe, or the Great Architect, the Big kahuna, the God and Goddess, The Man Upstairs, or other Special Deities, or even to Ourselves and we all make up The Whole, the All-One-Ness and the All-There-Is.

Happy Halloween :) :)

New Doggie Joining Up With Postulating Pippin

This new little doggie only arrived on Saturday. He is absolutely gorgeous and he makes a lovely addition to all the rest of the gang. The doggie made his debut appearance on a lovely flamingo cloth flanked by yellow indoor candles. He also had a small green rat for company too. He actually sits in pride of place right next to the Pippins when he is not appearing elsewhere!

Two Very Cute Little Bears Join The Scene

These really sweet little bears have joined the others just this Friday. I think they got a warm welcome as I do have quite a large number of needle felted creatures now so these two should hopefully settle in pretty well. We have had some pretty wild weather over the course of this last week, including a storm with a name passing through, but we have put Mr Alien Balloon outside for now, in a fairly sheltered spot and hope he doesn't blow away. He actually has a green flashing light inside and I think the bears wondered what was going on when he sat next to them!

Very Late Night In A Creepy Part Of Shipley

These photos were taken very late at night between 19th and 20th October 2017. They show the Leeds Liverpool Canal and an old railway bridge which is incredibly creepy, though it now has a light further along to illuminate a very precarious and dodgy footpath on the side of Bradford Beck.
This place is brimming with creep at full volume, despite having a supermarket and well known burger outfit nearby on the other side of the road in a hollow. It is also near the train station, with trains to and from London passing through regularly.

One of the best kept secrets is an extremely old graveyard which actually has no on road access and has really been walled off. It is supposed to be haunted by a Mayor wearing a gold chain of office. It can be reached by going up a landscaped steep slope and is behind some trees but the terrain was no good for me and it was far too precarious to even attempt to get near at that hour as there were still plenty of people coming out of the pizza shop smiling as they clutched their pizza boxes and heading home in the rain. There was torrential rain and we got very wet but it was very refreshing.

Working With Everyday Objects

We work with everyday objects in our rituals because all objects have a manitou or spirit of their own. hence stories of haunted computers and even clearing sprays being available to refresh the room after using the computer!

The Horrible Goings On At Carn Cottage, Zennor

This is an interesting and intriguing book as the author brings together various central characters. Obviously Aleister Crowley is involved. The village of Zennor in Cornwall is involved, the poet Rupert Brooke is kind of involved by proxy and Rupert Brooke's one time girlfriend Ka Cox is involved, though under her married name.

Well the gist of things according to the author is did Crowley magick Ka Cox to death because she was interfering with the goings on in his rented cottage in Zennor at the southern tip of Cornwall? Rupert Brooke ran with an affluent crowd. His father was a house master at Rugby school and Rupert knew Violet Asquith whose father was at one time the Prime Minister of the UK..

In the book, the author also shows a personal photo of his brother in a cape when he belonged to a magickal society, which is a nice touch.

Crowley had quite a lot of connection to Cornwall, including a son who became very eccentric. He did a lot of magick down Zennor way and Ka (who was by then no longer called Cox, but Katherine Arnold-Forster, from Eagle's nest, Zennor and she had both a husband and son), apparently tried to interfere with Crowley's derring-do and according to the author, died mysteriously. This was of course, many years after the death of Rupert Brooke in World War One.

The author adds some interesting bits and pieces to what is essentially a factual book. Carn Cottage is mentioned in Sven Berlin's writings too and looks like a very creepy cottage.

Offerings For Magick Spells

We always put out a lot of offerings when doing magick and this is one of our offering bowls. We have given apples and basil in this offering and it is surrounded by little indoor candles. We like to make offerings look nice before they are put outside in nature.

The Pippins,The Witches Hat And The Wand

This is one of the Harry Potter series of wands but I quite liked it because it has a slug/snails head on the top and it is quite attractive with the swirly stem. I have quite a few things outstanding to put on the blog that are interesting but I have not has as much time this month so far. The Pippins thought they would do a bit of magick themselves and I think they enjoyed it!

Ritual Using Black Dog Hair And Snake Pellets With Offerings

The top picture shows a quick version of the Triangle of Conjuration or Triangle Of Art, together with little figure, black dog hair and snake pellets. This was a special ritual to help someone out. The coloured tea lights are used in place of a naked flame as they still represent fire but are a lot more convenient to use when time is limited or in small spaces. They carry just as much charge and power as lit candles.
The lower pictures show offerings of fruit and herbs. It is always a good idea to make some offerings to the Gods, Celestials and Spirits that have helped in any ritual work at any time. We always have a huge supply of sweets for gifts too and we make regular offerings to various Deities out of respect for them as well.
