The Pippins And The Cornish Talisman

This blog was originally all about a little dog called Pippin. Pippin moved to St Ives which is a seaside resort populated by artists and artists colonies and is on the south west coast of Cornwall - the foot of the United Kingdom which sticks out in to the Atlantic Ocean - so it is technically nearest to America on the other side of the Atlantic.

Later Pippin got a doppelgänger - namely a larger Pippin. Then various other needle felted creatures turned up and in between all that I started putting on  some of our small films that had originally been on other blogs and websites, from 2009 onwards.

As I have been interested in the paranormal since being a young child, a lot of what I do is based on this concept, so the blog has developed a bit of a paranormal theme too with lots of spell castings shown as well.

The above talisman says 'Good luck to one and all' in old Cornish dialect along the bottom. The talisman shows a fish, some ancient stones, a mine and a chough (chuff) bird  which is a traditional Cornish emblem  and is known as the Hap Da.

The talisman can be further empowered by ritual magick or it can be spirited (or both). Various spirits can be added to the talisman, completely of their own freewill. The best kind would be those that would call on King Arthur, the chough familiar bird, a Merlin portal or something connected to extremely ancient powers.

Autumn Leaf Spell

This is a spell using Autumn leaves. it is a good spell for banishing unwanted energies or situations.

UFOs Have Landed

This is yet another more advanced UFO spell. The effigies act as focal points for energy and calling down of spirits to do one's bidding.

Magick! Magick! Magick!

The film clip which has audio shows some of our Autumn/Fall Equinox Mabon workings. We like to get outside and work magick in the open air wherever possible. We even go outside in winter if we can manage to, but some rituals have to be done indoors.
The fruit and cakes are offerings - giving back for the harvests. Mabon is the second harvest festival of the year and Halloween/Samhain is the last one

Spirit Spell For Protection And Success

This spell which was done specifically for a client, uses protective bay leaves and winner's trophies. The attributes of both the spirit of the wolf - for courage, determination and protection and the spirit of the bear - for increased abilities, power and strength, have been called on here too.

Flower Spell To Capture Summer's Fleeting Essence

This ritual was performed for a client earlier in the week. It is almost Autumn/Fall now, not long to go in the Northern Hemisphere.

However this ritual captured a powerful energy - hence using the bottle and the different kinds of flowers in symbolism of eternal beauty and the continuing cycle of the plants re-birthing again.

The person who the ritual was performed for, now has 'summer in a bottle' from a spiritual sense, to strengthen and empower them in all ways, right through the cold months.

The Furry Critters With A Light Up House

The Pippins missed out on this one unfortunately. I didn't know until recently that there was a play called 'Pippin'. Not only is it coming to our area, but just a few hours ago I was reading an American book from 1973 and a show entitled 'Pippin' was mentioned. Lots of synchronicity going on here. Wonder how the doggies are getting on in Cornwall? I wonder if they are enjoying the famous St Ives music festival?

The Hawthorne Tree Gets Berries

The hawthorne tree gets berries already. All trees have an individual spirit. The spirit of this tree is a male - i actually drew him once. Hawthornes are known as fairy trees and a fairy ring once appeared besdie this tree also.

Special Doll Ritual Being Sweetened Up

This is a special ritual for someone and the doll is now theirs. The red represents the fire energy of the sun and also the power of Mars. The sugar is an offering to sweeten the doll up.

Ginger Tea Ritual

This is a ritual done for someone,which uses the spicy power of ginger tea. The ginger is fiery and compelling in a good, healthy way. The way the ginger tea is thrown on to the paper also produces pictures.

Special Protection Powder Film Clip

This is special protection Vodu (popular spelling - Voodoo) powder which was made with the intention of helping someone who needed assitance in a number of directions and who had a weak aura which tore easily and  attracted dark links. The film clip has music to smooth it along.

Climbing Men Spell

Each of these men was empowered with a temporary spirit to climb over obstacles that surrounded the client and remove blockages and other circumstances preventing their progress. Other items were also used in the spell, as are chants.

Air Magick With Incense

Incense is one of the quickest ways to do air spells.A film snippet complete with music was made for the client as shown above.

Enochian Magick Meets Airships

This set up was actually part ritual and part reading. It was done specifically for a client looking in to disturbing forces around her. These showed up in the cards - but the powers of the balloons and airships helped draw bad energy away from the client and gave it back to Mother Earth to cleanse and renew.

Lord Goat, Scapegoats And Other Really Interesting Goats

My newest addition is the lovely little goat I have, as seen in the photo above. I must admit I like goats but they are not always treated very well. The scapegoat for example, was driven out in to the wilderness to carry the sins of the village with a scarlet scarf around the neck or horns, in a kind of Jesus like sacrifice. Goats are also sacrificed in a number of other religions such as those that originated in Africa and spread to other parts of the globe. There is one goat, however, I would have thought, that wouldn't be too pleased at all of that.

I do like some of the work of the pre-Raphaelite artists, particularly Dantel Gabriel Rossetti's pictures with Elizabeth Siddal in them.Not as many people know that Doctor John Polidori of Villa Diodati fame, where he wrote The Vampyre whilst acting as physician to Lord Byron, was actually Rossetti's uncle.

But the Knights Templar and Eliphas Levi's picture of Baphomet also brought a lot of interest. So much so, that around 2010/2011 we started a 'Society Of Baphomet', after research showed that Baphomet was not quite the baddie people tended to think, but was actually a historical Being connected to the Knights Templar, whose intention was to be the bearer of truth and balance. We put leaflets like the one above in libraries and sent them out all around. Other commitments took over eventually, but we put the details of Baphomet on a blog a few years later to share with others and set the matter straight.

The Pippins And Some Of The Crew Have A Ghostly Magick Session

The Pippins are never far away from the action and some of the crew, new and old members alike, have been having a catch up over some interesting magickal and ghostly books. They do like to find out about talismans in The Black Pullet, a famous grimoire, or read some ghost tales of the American Old South,or even find out what the Scottish Witches were up to a few hundred years ago.

All in all, The Pippins and their friends had a really good time :) :)

Fire And Ice Spell In A Metal Vintage Coffee Cup

This is a fire and ice spell which was done to bring two opposites together . There is ice in the saucer of the coffee cup and a lighted candle in the actual cup. The person we did the spell for has been given the cup and saucer which holds the power of the spell. It is a vintage metal coffee cup with flower designs and is rather unusual.

Deepest, Blackest Night Candle Spell Using Cobra Power

This is a lovely deep black candle, not a dipped variety as so many seem to be. Black candles are great for removing negativity and also for protection. Here the energies of the cobra in the candlestick were also used to create a powerful barrier for the person we were doing the spell for, wiring with the speed and dexterity of the Snake Spirit. We always put an offering out for every single  spell we do. offerings can be sweets, cake, biscuits,fruit of all kinds or alcoholic drinks, to name a few. Spirits tend to have a sweet tooth when it comes to offerings!

Sailing Boats And Sea Spells

We did this spell for someone just the other night. You can work with the sea even if you don't live anywhere near open water, or the beach is too busy to do rituals privately. Just create some bubbles or foam for waves or sea froth, add lights if desired depending on what or who you are working with, add incantations and you are on your way. The little boats act as tugs. This is a water and fire spell - the lights represent the fire and the idea is to obtain balance between emotional (water) output and energetic (fire) output. It is a balance and harmony spell to stop excess energy leaking away from a person and also to bring further opportunities their way, because the sea is not restricted in the same way a lake is. Lake energy can become stagnant, but is useful for other kinds of spells.

Grid Lights For Ghost Catching

The idea of these grid lights is that spirits can be seen walking through the pattern as they disturb the grid. The lights are rather effective when shone on hedges and bushes and we have actually witnessed the gird being broken as something unseen has passed through.
We also use the grids in spell work too.
